Havila Voyages
Havila Voyages is a cruise line offering cruises along the scenic Norwegian coast between Bergen and Kirkenes.

The fleet consists of four environmentally friendly ships loaded with the largest battery packs ever installed on a passenger ship, meaning that they can sail for four hours straight with zero emissions. That way guests can visit vulnerable fjords without worrying about environmental issues, and they can do so in utter silence. Batteries are charged with clean hydropower ashore, and when the ships aren’t sailing on the batteries, they run on LNG (liquid natural gas) which – along with general efficient hybrid operation – cuts CO2 by around 35 per cent. In addition, the hull is designed for maximum energy efficiency, and excess heat from cooling water and sea are used for heating on board. Havila Voyages also has a food concept that take sustainability into consideration. There are no buffets onboard the ships. Instead, you can order as many dishes as you want from a menu. As the ship makes its way along the coast, the menu changes, so dishes are made with handpicked ingredients from the local area. With the concept, Havila Voyages has an ambition to minimize food waste to 75 grams per person per day, but in 2023 the ambition was exceeded, as the amount of food waste was kept at 60 grams per person per day. This means a reduction in food waste of about 60 tons per year compared to a buffet.
